Antioxidant Potential of Aqueous Dispersions of Fullerenes C60, C70, and Gd@C82

The antioxidant potential (capacity and activity) of aqueous fullerene dispersions (AFD) non-functionalized C60, C70, Gd@C82 endofullerene (in micromolar concentration range) was estimated based on chemiluminescence measurements the model luminol generation organic radicals by 2,2?-azobis(2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (ABAP). capacity TRAP method, from half-suppression, suppression area in initial period. All three approaches agree show that AFDs increased order < C70 C60. Mathematical modeling long-term kinetics data used for activity estimation. effect C60 is found to be quenching excited product with ABAP-generated radical not an actual effect; constants differ insignificantly. Apart a similar constant, AFD exhibits action. 300-fold higher than constants.
